'Zouk la sé sèl médikaman nou ni' literally means 'Zouk is the only medicine we have' — a declaration of love for music that became the universal anthem of the Antilles.
The word 'zouk' originally referred to popular parties and Antillean dance halls before Kassav' turned it into the name of a musical genre heard across all five continents.
